Solution

The Moon is a ball, not a crescent. On the above picture, the whole celestial body is shown as a black disk. The sunlit hemisphere is seen as a white crecent, but the Moon is a ball, much closer to us than any star. Thun no star can stand before the Moon. Therefore the previous picture was absurd. This is a common mistake in comics or cartoons.
